Another find from my mother’s basement.
Back when I was a very small boy, I sent in whatever breakfast cereal box tops were needed to get my very own Dennis the Menace spoon. It was the first thing I ever sent for, and I still remember running out to the mail box each day in eager anticipation. It seemed like forever before it arrived. Once it did, I insisted on using it for my cereal each morning.
A little research shows it was a premium offered by Kellogg’s in 1961. Surprisingly it is silver plate. It's hard to imagine a freebie in anything other than plastic, let lone silver! The reverse says “H.S.I. OLD COMPANY PLATE I S”
I remember watching Dennis The Menace. I've never seen one of these spoons. Cute!
Great memories of when we could get something free with labels of boxes . I used to fill out all those for free dolls :-)

I really loved re-discovering this item at my mom's place after not even thinking of it in years. We are trying to clean out the large house she's lived in for 50+ years and that I grew up in. My grandmother also lived there with mom after grandma's retirement, so there are three generations of family memories we are uncovering.
Love it! I remember having the plastic cup!
Thanks Vintagelamp. I am tempted to post my "Moo-Cow creamer".
And thanks for the love vintagelamp, SEAN68, crswerner, sugargirl and racer4four
