Hello Fellow Collectors. Beings it's January 2016, I thought you all might enjoy this little Alarm clock with a unique story, some 62 years later. The Lux Clock Manufacturing Company was based in Waterbury, Connecticut and produced only clock movements at that time. In the years that followed, the company grew and began making the entire clock unit. Lux Clock produced clocks until 1941, at which time they made war related products. Clock production resumed after the war, and in January 1954 a plant was established in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Well to sum up the story, the day Lux had their first production run, all the parts and packaging were brought in from their Waterbury plant. To celebrate the opening of the plant, a few dials were redone and the writing you see across the center marked "From the First Day's Production at Our New Plant, Lebanon, Tenn, Jan. 1954", note bottom of dial still has the Waterbury.
Not a "Character" clock , but the oddity of this was a have to have here at "Ye Ole Horde".....Thanks for looking,
    Kerry
