Mickey Mouse and Rolex, I have been asked before if these were authorized by the company/companies. I can't answer yes, but can't say no either. I've seen these around for decades and never heard either Disney, nor Rolex file complains about them. Some people believe there was a "Hand shake" behind the scene deal between the two, but nothing was ever done in writing. Either way these are still a high end Swiss watch produced by Rolex and a very classy depiction of Mickey Mouse on the dial. I guess if your a Mickey Mouse fan and want a high end piece, you'd pay for a unauthorized piece, but better be a nice one.....no paper scan dials here, lol
Thanks for looking,
Kerry
Thanks Nuts for the complement, totally agree :-)

Kerry ... what's fascinating is that the camera collecting world has a similar scenario. Starting in 1995, colorful Mickey Mouse faceplates were found on early Kodak Brownie Target Six-16 and Six-20 cameras. The drawing and Disney name were in a pre-war style that lead some collectors to believe these were prototypes of a project started in the 1930s.
The first example uncovered sold for $6,000 at auction because it was considered a unique prototype. More appeared and sold privately in the $2,000 to $3,000 range. By 2005 over 15 examples made their way into the market with more appearing.
Now that there were many to look at, close examination showed a wide range of quality which started changing the opinion of many collectors. This was because many of the Mickey Mouse face plates looked amateurish while others were clearly poor quality made for the collector market ... “fantasy items” as Coke collectors would say. Efforts to trace the provenance of these cameras has proven futile which makes them dubious at best. Formal discussions with Kodak and Disney have not uncovered any such project. Buyers who plunked down big dollars in the early days continue to deny these being fantasy items because the cameras now have asking prices in the $250 - $400 range.
I share this story because of the potential of this being a similar situation. I am not a watch expert but frequently read watch forums. Most any Rolex expert will tell you that very fine Rolex forgeries are around. For example, there was recently a detailed analysis of a Rolex selling for $21,000 on eBay that was proven to be a modified piece. At a lesser level, replacing or modifying a face is quite common. That’s my 2 cents worth. Otherwise it’s a fun watch.
That's a great looking watch Kerry, thanks so much for posting!!
Something I never knew existed!!
Rob, totally agreed, I have never seen any proof as to Disney/Rolex agreement and when this appeared, didn't matter to me, had to have sort of thing :-), I bought this a fair price, similar models on the "Bay" will fetch twice my original investment and again, Great conversation piece at gatherings.
Thank you Michael & Bernie for stopping by
@Bernie, I had this for a number of years, most defiantly one of my favorites to wear around town
It would be mine also!! Although my Omega is still my go to on the town watch!!
You bet Bernie, Nothing wrong with an Omega, I have a 1958 Constellation I wear but not very often
That's one SWEET looking Rolex watch! And Mickey just makes it even better!
Scott, Thank you and it does draw attention when sitting at a table with a few people for dinner, great conversations have stated with this :-)
Wow Kerry, I never knew Mickey wore a Rolex! Walt must have been paying him pretty good!
LOL Rick, he had to, after all Mickey was responsible for saving Ingersoll during the Great Depression and gave them such an upstart, they hired 2500 employees when everyone else was going broke.....Thanks Rick :-)
Thank you Thomas :-)
Thanks Celiene, very pleased to see you've dropped in, always deeply appreciated!!
Beautiful!!!!!
Thanks Sean, ole buddy, I think so also :-)
Classy. Mickey is so understated, but obvious still.
hello Kerry is there any way we could see the whole strap of the watch , is it marked on the inside of the clap of the watch rolex or the outside of the strap?
Sean, removed one photo and replaced with one you ask about :-)
Sean, here's also link to "Sold" listings on eBay:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=mickey+rolex&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=64471&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&LH_Complete=1
Thankyou Kerry!!!
this is a really Rolex!!! you have all of the info in the right places on the rolex , of a real rolex, this to my knowledge and looking at regular real Rolexes .
Maybe it was a custom job for a Disney employee:) Fine watch indeed.
that's what im thinking as well or an award for being a long time employee as well or it could be belonged to a stock shre holder as well from with board members. you never know. I always go by what people sell on ebay , mean from what they have sold in past ,so if they are selling something like this , then they have sold a lot of other high end quality items as well.
LOL Thanks Sean, it's a real Rolex and dial, the dial could be called "Modified" :-)
Thanks Trey, strong possibility :-)

Thank You fleafinder & ttomtucker, always very appreciated!!
I've always admired the superb craftsmanship that goes into building a Rolex. Never could afford one:( This is by far the one I love the most!! Thanks for sharing Kerry.
Thank you Rod, I really love this also, but in retrospect....I really didn't pay as much for this one, as I have for a couple of the"Dollar" style Mickeys....oops, I guess I'm not the brightest crayon in the box :-)
