New lamp I found.

Don't know how old or hopefully not new this is. I think it's a captins pendant hanging electric oil style lamp or lantern. Any information on this would be great. Also should o clean or leave as found??? Hope to hear some helpful information I'm a novice in this area. Kind regards Jamie.
