Hope everybody started a new year in good health and good mood :-)
For the first post in the year I've chosen this compote.I've been watching it on a bid for more than a year and finally it came out at a reasonable price.
I've found just one similar item in the Net (green serpent) described as American.Portland?
On the other hand the type of glass and a snake are like a Harrach goblet featured in the link below.I'm confused, so any clues will be appreciated.
The leg is sticked to the plate and hollow inside.

very nice compote! Portland glass did make a similar overshot glass with serpent pattern. Boston & Sandwich also made similar overshot glass. There is also Czech and Bohemian overshot glass as well. You might also include these terms in your searching: overshot glass, serpent, tree of life.
Overshot typically has a sharp glass feel and the 'tree of life' motif has a tree bark texture design. Here's an example attributed to Portland:

I LOVE IT!!!! very very nice!!!
Thank you TallCakes and rucklczglass fot your input and more information.I'll be continuing searching.I haven't heard about 'tree of life' - this is a new term for me.I haven't used the term "over shot glass" intentionally, because it's rough and sharp, whereas my item has just rough feel.Inky's post made me think of Harrach too, perhaps a newer version.
Anyway, thanks again for your assistance :-)
Thanks,SEAN for your love and so nice comment :-)

Happy 2016 to you Ivonne.
This is so beautiful. It is very interesting to find so many similarities with pieces from all over the world.
Many thanks mikelv, vetraio, nutsabotas, jscott and racer for the loves :-)
jscott,I'm really glad that nobody else has been tempted by its beauty for the year I 've been watching it!
Karen,same to you!
Right,I'd say similarities and difficulties are two sides of the same coin.
What a striking piece Ivonne! I love the form, the texture, and best of all, the beautifully contrasting snake!
Thanks kyratango for the love :-)
and Rick for the love and comment :-). I used to have a modern centrepiece made in Krosno with a serpent too and always wanted to have another one.
