My Dad dug up this cranberry colored rose bowl in an abandoned lot in Columbus Indiana / Bartholemew County when he was 9 years old (1938). I'm not sure of it's true age, the maker or if I am correct in calling it cranberry color.
I have seen a few of these rose bowls here and there, but not one in this color or design. It's in perfect condition for it's age and as far as I know has never been used by anyone in the family.
If anyone out there in "Collectorland" knows anything about this piece (ie, maker, pattern, age) and wouldn't mind passing along the info to me, I'd certainly appreciate.
I am in the midst of putting together a history of my collection for my child and would love to all the history including identification pertaining to this piece to compliment the family history I just shared with you.
Thank you again my fellow collectors for any help and assistance you might be able to provide.

      hi,
this is a piece of Fenton Glass. the pattern is called Fern and Daisy. i think this piece is from 1940's-1950's i could be wrong on the age. i am positive of the maker and the pattern name. people love the cranberry color. this is cranberry opalescent glass. the opalescence is what makes up the design. a very nice piece. i would say you could get $50+ if you decided to sell it. thanks for sharing it with us!

I just posted my Cranberry Opalescent Rosebowl, and even though it is Very Differnt they both Stunning!

Northwood (and likely other companies) originally made the "Daisy and Fern" pattern in the late 1800s. Fenton later reproduced this pattern for L.G. Wright in various opalescent colors. Oldmade's rosebowl would have to be examined in person to ascertain whether it is 19th or 20th century.

I collect Fenton pieces n it appears to b such. I had a similar bowl but mine was cobalt blue w a winter scene handpainted n signed by artist. Unfortunatly it broke during earthquake. Beautiful piece u have.
