Hi Everyone. My son and I just found this mystery toy. It has wheels, and is only about 1 inch and a half or so long. it is pretty rough, but it appears to be more of a space ship or something. Does anyone have a clue to it's true identity? Thanks!

I suggest also researching methods of cleaning up the rust. Diluted, warm oxalic acid is used on many items, especially for the beer-can hobby and chrome-plated objects, albeit I'm not sure what would be used on toys.
It does, though, lighten paint. Supposedly, albeit I've never tried, wiping WD40 on the cleaned item brings the colour back.

What does it say under the rust?

Thanks for the suggestions. I will have to do some more research. Just a little skittish to try anything right now. I do not see any identifying marks on it. Rusty surface.

It looks like one of the cars from a wind up play set. I know Chein made a Disney Roller Coaster that had cars shaped like that. Marx had some similar type sets as well.

Thank you for the comments. Wind up set? Perhaps the track etc... was the wind up part. Ther is no mechanism in the toy itself. Kinda leery of trying to clean it. But I will look into it. With the round windows on the sides it looks more like some sort of space ship.
