*** UPDATE***
Item identified by Welzebub and inky as a Fenton Mosaic Threaded RARE vase. Please see below for their amazing identification and information. Very much appreciated here. :)
********** Original post*****************************************
*** Original title said: 11" vase. Is this a real Murano? ;)

Of course I'm kidding. I'm not even going to try to guess what this is. I have NEVER seen anything like it around here in the thrift stores. I have seen everyone's posts and the pieces are wonderful I just have no clue what this is. It is 11" tall , 4" wide in the middle and base. The top opening is 3-1/2" across. Surprisingly it is not as heavy as I thought it would be.
I apologize for the photos but I think I got a pretty good one of the base.
Thanks for looking. I hope someone can give it a name.
Thanks Moon. I think you beat the post. Sure was hoping you would see this. :)
Wonderful shape and color :)...I think you found yourself a piece of Czech spatter glass One. Of course I'll let the glass experts weight in but that's my two cents worth. :)
Thank you mike. It's somewhere to start doing my homework.
Really appreciate it. :)
Thanks for the loves blunder and Thomas. :)
What you have there is actually American art glass produced by Fenton. The line was called Mosaic and was produced for one year in 1925. They are quite uncommon and pretty desirable, especially if the threading is in good condition.
Congratulations, it is a very nice find!!

Thank you Vetra. I truly am overwhelmed right now.
Fenton art glass.....Wow who would have thought ! Certainly not the usual hobnail, ruffled, milk glass one associates with Fenton. Given the year though I'm sure Fenton noticed what was coming out of Europe. Amazing find One you must be ecstatic ! :)
What a great looking vase!! Very nice!
This is really opening my eyes to Fenton. I bought a heavy swirly blue dish the other day I also thought might be Italian, turned out to be Fenton! So they were "arty" too! :) Nice get, OGF!!! :)
Just fantastic find OGF! Your name did it for you...
Like Katherine I am still amazed by Fenton. They have produced some amazing art glass and I tend to forget that because of how much moulded glass we see from them.
Thank you Katherine and Karen for you comments and loves. Welzebub and inky knocked it out of the park and in what seemed like minutes. To think I still might not know what it is without CW and the real experts here makes me feel bad for whoever gave that one away. Fenton didn't cross my mind either. Still pinching myself here.
Mike and Scott: Thank you for your comments and loves too! This whole thing has been very educational and eye opening. I've been back to the shop everyday just in case they are looking for me. I asked if they knew what it was when I bought it because it was $5.00 and that is a bit pricy for them. So far so good. :)
I've never had a rare piece but after trying to read up, I think I will get an appraisal since the last one was in 2004. Not sure how much that costs. So depending..I will keep you posted on any additional information I find.
Thank you so much again Welz and inky and the rest of you awesome collectors. :)
Not sure why my thanks are not posting. The site is very busy. Maybe that's it. Just want those who take the time to love and comment know I appreciate it. :)
Thanks for the 2 taps Nice. I think I deleted your 1st one by mistake. ;)
Thanks for the loves also: bruns ( I meant to type your name earlier but I messed up.
Also thanks for the loves: skle, aura EZa, Lovely, nuts, racer.
I hope I didn't miss anybody because I really appreciate them all! :)
Sorry about that sklo.
Hey Rick.....
Spectacular find OGF! I just read the worth point description... WOW! Aside from the wonderful spatter, I love the low gloss finish! Beautiful!
Thank you very much Rick. I know you're not a Fenton fan so I really wanted you and Gloria to see it.
Have a wonderful weekend...and thanks. :)
Thanks for the love thegatherer. :)
Thanks for the loves MFT, Midnight and Mani. :)
welzebub. without your posts and information and others who post from your geo area, I would have never picked up the rare Fenton vase. It was the black glass that is NEVER seen around here that I was looking for. Inky's link about gave me a heart attack but I knew I had to do the right thing. The sweet lady who is 92 had not been there since I purchased it. I kept going in and finally spoke with her this week. :) She assured me that it did not belong to her and was not sold by mistake. Spent my whole lunch in there talking to her and her guy friend.
Fenton museum wants not part of it, and skinner doesn't seem to either. I'm not even asking for a monetary price. So I guess I have a $5.00 vase. Whoot Whoot
inky's from New Zealand! lol.
Lovely vase. Surprised it's Fenton but in a way not. Their older stuff was magnificent, thry were individualist and did some fabulous work, not like yhe hobnal work etc we still see today, sorry Fenron collectors. But they took it up to the Czech importors in a big way.
Congratulation on your amazing find, it's great to have all those knowledgeable glass collectors here on CW, were lucky.
Love it.
Regards
Alan
So sorry Thomas. I don't understand what that means honey.
Thanks for the kind comments and loves: Anne, Alan (you are correct about the amazing folks here and their knowledge) ++ and Thomas for sure.
Thanks for the love also: collect. ;)
Love it !!!!!1
OGF did you get an appraisal on this? Is it going to fund collecting for the next 10 years, or just months? Still amazed at your find!
Skinner auction didn't reply. A local dealer said to put it on eBay. So I still have a $5.00 vase. UGG on the ebay. UGG
Sorry I mean it's too much trouble.
Seems like everyone wants my ssn to sell it and that's not going to happen.
:)
The man I spoke with locally said the appraisal would be the same.
So there's that. And that's all I got. :)
Ooh. Sad. I guess things really are only worth what others will pay for them.
Enjoy it for now, move it along some other time.
Thanks for the love rose. I hope I didn't miss anybody. You all have been so awesome. I know it's not a $5.00 vase. I'm kidding. I just do not want to ruin a piece of history. It is packed up safely but I don't know how to properly care for a piece like this so that is the only reason I would sell it. :) Thanks again everybody. !
So, I bought another curio that I thought closes tight enough and there is no light in it and WAS thinking of putting the vase in this one but NOT. I live in an apartment complex and they think they own the place. LOL
It's safely packed away from their "oh so trusted contractors". Only my daughter and I know where this is. So sad;((((( But so happy to have. :) I've really turned a corner and will never sell this vase.
Keep it as long as you wish; every now and then get it out and fall in love again:)
Awe spanks Karen. Are you just waking up? I do get it out and sleep with it once in awhile. Well the packing box it's in anyway. ;0).
This will be the start of family history for my daughter.
As with everything else I have "gathered" along the way. Found some pretty cool stuff thanks to everyone here so..we got history. :)
Another Love tap from me again !!! Stunning!!
Awesome Find!!
