I was very fortunate to find this piece. I got a call from someone who runs a thrift shop saying they had something special held back for me to look at. I paid a little more than I am used to, but it was well worth it.
The stand is bronze, from the 20's with all original parts and excellent patina. It is about 24 inches tall at the tip of the dogs nose.
Cool piece!.. I have a table that is very modernist in nickel and Bronze that is similar in design to this. Not figural like this but with a decorated top. If I have a chance I will post it later today. I have had it for many years and have never been able to identify it.
