Tapestry of the red Royals?

Another textile found by my wife while rummaging through a pile of old rugs in that pole barn in the Alsace. Rich, deep red. Heavy material. No identifying marks. Odd markings and shapes. Appears to have been two-sided, whatever it was used for... perhaps a headboard? 100cm x 200cm.
Any textile-philes out there? How can we date this interesting piece?
