During our visit to Morocco, we were bombarded by various peddlers. But during a guided tour, (Asiz #1!) we came across this small shop, which serves as a co-op for the Berber people ( Imazighen) who normally live outside the city limits, further inland, near the desert. While sipping mint tea, we were shown dozens of pieces, all just amazing works of art. The shop keeper explained to us that each piece is described by the length of time to complete. Our rug, for instance took the craftsperson approximately 3-months to complete; so 3-M. You'll notice we hang this rug as a tapestry... too beautiful to walk on. ;-)
Wish we could have bought 10 more rugs while we were there.
Enjoy!
Salãm Salãm!
