I purchased the print in an original frame recently on ebay. although it is an orignial frame, i wasn't that crazy over it, but i also knew better than to remove it. then i found another frame at the flea market for just $2 and it had that blue in it. now, it's just placed around the other frame - hanging there, but eventually i'll get it cut and combined by my framer friend. i'm showing a photo of it w/ just the original frame for comparison. i prefer the double frame!
Always Always leave any Parrish Print in its Original frame. Unless frame is just to far gone leave it as is. I was a HUGE Collector of Parrish way back and the one thing I Always looked for was all Original with old paper dust cover back. These Frames with the blue surround are like the tell tell sign that print is Original and is what Collectors expect when it comes to Parrish. This was one of My Favs!
i will be leaving it in the original frame - which doesn't have the blue surround. but i'm going to cut down the outer frame and attach it. that one does have the blue surround - which i like very much!
by the way - i grew up just down the road from Parrish's home/studio in Cornish, NH.
Beautiful Ho2....I've done the same thing. It's a nice surprise when you can marry two frames together and create a totally new look and yet still keep the original !
thanks mike! i agree.
