Another item for my collection, a beautiful pink bud vase, circa 1890. Approx 6 inch in height and 4inch wide at the bottom. I have seen another post with the same item! ... (http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/161540-pink-vase-with-applied-glass-ribbon-and?in=activity)

Please also note that on my research I have been thinking...
    a) Could it be vaseline?
    b) Could it be manufactured by Stevens & Williams (I have seen a very similar style)

As to Vaseline:possible. The true test for that would be exposure to UV light and the item will fluoresce greenish yellow

I have a UV light on order :)

I just shelled out $1 yesterday for a yellow flourentine #2 sugar bowl without a lid. I thought for sure it would glow, but no go. Just very very faint green glow where the foot meets the bowl, and where the handles are attached. Then there's all this green glass I have that glows a custard yellow under uv. The uv light thing seems a bit of a science to me.

I will post my findings as soon as I get my UV torch :)

      nope it doesnt from memory...
it's not the same item, otherwise it would be yours but it's not because the one in the picture is mine!
enjoy, they are lovely, there are a few in the series they did. I think I have one more in that series....they made it around the same time as the honeycomb and very very popular Stripes.
For me the jury is still out. Its a toss up between Kralik because of their pinks and Stevens and Williams or a British maker....and that's for one reason only...
for a while...Even though many imports of glass were made I'm a big believer in location....

      Hi and welcome to C.W.
You may also like to consider Welz as the maker of your vase. The clear glass decoration on your vase (known as rigaree) is of two distinct types. Both types can be found on other Welz pieces.....click the link to see the 'Daisy' style rigaree on a Welz bowl.

Sorry, the second one IS my mistake, but if you go to it you'll find the bowl with 'Daisy' rigaree', like on your vase, next to it. I can't fathom the fault in the first link!!
