As far as I have been able to ascertain Sanyu have been making glass since just after World War 2, and they are one of the companies still making it.
This vase is contemporary and shows a nice understanding of glass making, but for me best of all is that it retains a Japanese spirit.
The gourd like shape with the flared lip is very Japanese.
The single handle and sand blasted finish just top off the style.

I love the festive look of this vase.

It's almost like they didn't want to foul the vase with a handle, so they made a tiny one. So nice.
