Picture was at my grandmother's for years, was told someone in the family did it, but then I saw the signature. Actual picture (not the frame) is about 25" x 7" - Frame is odd, on the inside of the back cardboard, odd Ukrainian phrases...taped to the back with years like 1928, 1936....typed out.
Just curious.....if it was by William Henry Chandler - signature looks right, but who knows?

Thanks for the reply Celiene....I have found some comparisons, I just wanted some second opinions :) The spacing of the letters looks right, I was just kinda surprised at it, since all this time I thought a relative had done it. It is a nice picture. I sent the phrases to my Uncle who can read Ukrainian, just waiting to see what he says. It almost seems like hidden messages!
Thanks Matisse - I agree it looks the same. For years I never noticed the signature, and the other day I looked and googled Chandler and pastel and was surprised!
I will tell you it is a Chandler. I was Huge Collector of His works yrs back and I know a Chandler Signature anywhere!
