The design looks like tooled leather, but perhaps it has been "pressed" into the leather. It has a 1960s / 1970s look...
The original paper label on the back reads:

The leather used in this wall mirror is a high quality shoulder harness leather. It has been treated with a wax protective coating to prevent drying or cracking of the leather. Using a window or mirror glass solvent to clean the mirror will not stain or harm the leather, so long as the leather is wiped dry of extraneous solvent after cleaning.
Wipe dust from the leather with a damp cloth.
