A little something I picked up today, thought it would go well with my Battle of the Giants film. It was under $20 so if it didn't work no big. It works although it needs a new lamp.
The model 253 AX made in the 1950s. Made like a Sherman tank it was one heavy solid machine. Little wonder it works after 60 years.
As can be seen the power cord winds up around return reel which fits into a groove in the case. The arms fold in and everything folds up into a neat little carrying case.
In the long long ago I was professional AV guy and I call still thread a projector.

Does it have the slow mo switch? These are very heavy and I have one as a to door stop. Our local Museum occasionally makes a request for free equipment such as this to play films and to help Dementia suffers. The idea being to show them films and equipment to get them chatting about past times.

Thank you GeodeGem. No slow mo switch. It does have a reverse and would be a good door stop.

I have one of these somewhere. I used to watch movies on this when I was a kid!

My mom had one of these when I was a small kid, can still "hear" the humming of the reels and film! I believe it is still (as well as all the old film reels), still in my mom's home.

Yes Thomas imagine the droning nasal monotone of the narrator in those films.
