Looks like today is blue glass day. Here's find number two from Salvation. A very large almost 12" in diameter console bowl. It's 7 " high and the color is amazing. Depending on how the light hits it you get just a touch of iridescence and a bit of sea green but it's mostly this gorgeous teal color. It has wonderful threading around the top and rim that turns even darker blue at times. The bottom has a rough pontil mark but no signature or labels. There is some greyish wear and scratching to the bottom edge which may indicate some age. Really an impressive hand made piece of glass. A little research shows the rough pontil and "teal" color might suggest Blenko from the late 50's. I sure hope the ID eventually turns out to be something special because this is a beauty ! -Mike-
One of my favorite colors. I haven't seen anything quite like it. Beautiful!
Thanks Bonnie...it is an awesome piece of glass ! :)
Lovely...and large! Threading is always a plus in my book.
Thanks so much Sklo :).....I've been wracking my brain and eye sight online trying to find anything like it...but nothing. I'm almost certain it's someone well known as the quality is wonderful. Darn mystery glass...lol
Mystery indeed, mikelv,....unless you've chosen to collect American pressed glass, and then TallCakes comes to the rescue every time :)
Yes every time and especially if you've made a mistake in your post as to the ID...lol :)
Amazing finds Mike. Love them both but I love the bowl really bad!! :):) Seems like I haven't been on CW in forever but after reading this I got confused and anyhew I found this: Just a guess but it's something. :)

You know what OGF I think you're on to something. I had a suspicion that both this bowl and the candle holder may have belong to the same person and possibly they collected Blenko. So they were donated to Salvation together. The bottom of the vase and this bowl seem identical and the color could be the teal they mentioned in the auction. Now I have something to go on. I'm sure I can find a Blenko collectors forum to help ID this bowl. Thanks for the link.... this could get interesting ! :)
You're welcome and good luck. Maybe you need that vase too!!
You are right about piece being donated together. Haeger was in ours this week all spread out. I've noticed it too.
Well I checked into the Blenko collectors club on Facebook. After I posted the pictures the moderators told me it's definitely not a Blenko piece. So here we are back to square one with no trail to follow. Mystery glass and unreadable painting signatures are two thing that drive me crazy !
Back to square one but still beautiful and two thumbs up you find it.!!
Love the shape and the color. It looks familiar, I will keep an eye out while researching some other pieces as to a possible id.
Thanks so much Emme. The more help the merrier..lol !
no idea i don,t give a etc i, like it
