I am not sure if this is jewelry or what. My great grandmother had it in the beginning, was passed onto my mother, and now it is in my hands. I am not sure what it is made of or what era it is from. Or for that matter what these items were used for. They seem like something a princess would have worn or something. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated my friends. As always thank you so much to everyone and anyone that can and has assisted me! Have a blessed day my friends!! : )

Your items look like some of my silver filigree pieces which were hand made in Malta, Europe.

Thank you for showin some love on this Maltamary! It is much appreciated. This is originally from Macedonia which makes sense with you saying these are filagree pieces. After some research apparently this type of item has been made there for quite some time. Is there any way to date these items? If you know cool. If not no big deal. Thank you so much regardless for the input! Have an awesome remainder of the week.....

I don't know the national dress of Macedonia but these look very much like dress ornaments to me. The long ones could be bodice ornaments and the others jacket buttons? The pictures of the backs show what looks to be flexible prongs which could have been put through fabric and opened out to hold the pieces in place, similarly the buttons; they could then be removed when the garments needed cleaning. This sort of metal filigree work was very popular in western europe in the mid-nineteenth century. Just a thought, but I'm no expert.

This is awesome information that you shared on this daisymay. I am grateful and appreciative for your comments. They may indeed have been some sort of dress ornaments. Little by little I will put the pieces together on this puzzle to find out exactly what they are with great people like you sharing information they have on them..... : )

I was thinking the same thing as daisymay. I googled maltese costume but the images aren't detailed enough. I will keep looking.

I have been looking at Macedonia costumes, and will take up the search again tomorrow (it's 11:30pm here now) It will take some research, since different regions had different styles and motifs.
The good thing is I can search in both English and Spanish for you. The bad is I have a headache (not your fault, it came with the head...lol)
      So I will continue tomorrow.
      Take care,
      Esther

      I'm back...
I've narrowed it down to western Macedonia, as seen in this costume:

      The search continues...lol

Since these were typically handmade by the girls that wore these dresses/accessories, I don't think I will be able to find the exact piece.
But the little flower pieces may have come from the jackets, like these:http://smspostcard.blogspot.com/2009/08/macedonia-traditional-costume.html
The longer ones are still a mystery to me.
