I can say without reservation that I have never owned a rifle chambered in .32 Winchester Short Rimfire. I imagine it was to be fired in something exotic like a Ballard or maybe a Martini. The round is so small I would have dropped more than I loaded. It is kind of fun to think about.

The box is nearly full. It may be completely full but I haven't removed the string to find out.

I am starting to get in to my dad's cartridge collection to catalog. "Eclectic" best describes the assortment.

.32 rimfire was a very commonly used caliber in the late 1800's. Usually small pistols or short barreled guns. That period birthed a number of these rimfires that curse us collectors. There was .44, .41, .38 etc. as well.

I know I have single cartridges in all sorts of configurations. Some are going to be tough to identify. I believe there is a pin fire or two somewhere in addition to some of the other rimfires you have referenced.
There are numerous examples of late, large military (inert) cartridges like 20MM, 25MM. Others I can't identify but like I said more than likely post WWII.
