This is the Big Ben "Sculpture" alarm clock. It consists of a style 8 Big Ben mounted on a tall pedestal base. It was first made in England, then the LaSalle, Illinois, USA factory began to make it too. It is shown in USA catalogs starting with the 1975 – 76 issue and was made in “stardust blue”, “field green” and “radiant red”.

    Shown above are:

Model 10082, Stardust Blue, made in USA from 1975 - 1979

Model 10086, Radiant Red, made in USA from 1975 - 1978

    A model from Scotland

I am looking for a Big Ben "Sculputra" Style 8 Alarm Clocks. If anyone has one in good condition and it works, please let me know. I am looking to purchase one. Thanks.

I recently saw a photo of three Sculptura made in Canada and there was a lovely purple one as well from their factory I presume.

Like Eddie, I am looking for one to buy as well. Must be in good working order - I don't have any interest in repairing clocks, I just like to use them as, well, clocks! LOL!

      Regards

Thanks for sharing the history and what a lovely display.

I have an example of the Stardust Blue one. I love the smooth action when winding the springs, the fact it is a repeater, the colour (my favourite), the fact you can choose between a loud and soft alarm sound and the retro look of it. The only issue with mine is the black stop alarm knob on top as it's not functioning correctly. A good friend of mine has had the movement out to oil it and examine it and he says they were not really meant to be taken apart due to their robust construction. I could have bought another one at a Scotfair, Stirling, Scotland about a year or so ago for only about £12 GBP, but didn't yield to temptation. I've seen the red variety, but felt it was overpriced.

I have one, however it won't wind. Anyone have any suggestions? Can't find one on-line...and the clock doctor said it was possible at a reasonable price. Any suggestions? I love this clock and got from a deceased relative...it was broken when I got it...but loved the style and the memory so much that I've kept it. I'd just like to repair it or even replace it. The memory will always be there...if it is a different one that works. Thanks. in advance.
