I bought this chair along with a couch . I don't think they really go together because the color of the couch and material of the chair but they both have the same legs feet and flowers in them . I did find a similar couch. It was called a french italian provincial. I don't know anything else. What might the chair be called?

The chair looks like a tub chair but with an extremely high back. Very unusual and most likely a makers twist on a design, since it is not after a known design. Most furniture makers put their own twist on a lot of designs, something I like in furniture.

A google image search on French Provincial High Back Arm Chair:

      https://www.google.ca/search?q=french+provincial+high+back+chair&client=ubuntu&hs=yfl&channel=fs&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjx34D0iILNAhVM54MKHb0ZBNUQ_AUIBygB&biw=1700&bih=874

And the same search criteria for an Italian Provincial style:

      https://www.google.ca/search?q=italian+provincial+high+back+chair&client=ubuntu&hs=Cvl&channel=fs&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj-4Ie2jILNAhVCzoMKHZ2JCCMQ_AUIBygB&biw=1700&bih=874

Some high back chairs are called "hall" chairs, others "throne chairs". It's really up to you what you decide to look for. In one respect I agree with bladerunner that the chair you have will probably remain all on it's own - that's why people tend to buy a 6-chair set, or a 4-chair set. But I don't agree that it is such an unusual design, there are too many examples that prove the opposite, and if you buy an antique high back chair (just one like samoyer11) you might want to use it as a 'statement' piece, set on it's own.
