      It's not a cookie jar, these were called biscuit jars. Made out of depression glass. We used to own one just like it, same pink color too!

      This looks to be anchor hocking Manhattan pattern.

      biscuit jar is a Brit term, whereas in the USA 'cracker jar' was used. This is Hocking's 'Paneled and Ribbed' cookie jar c1930s.
