This is an extravagant hand made vase that came to me without it's box, so I am not sure of it's maker.

It bears many hallmarks of Iwata Hisatoshi (Kuri Iwata) and like his work is unsigned. I can't be sure at this stage.

White glass has had a thick coat of brown glass that has somehow had an intense crackle finish applied. I wonder if this has been done by some sort of resist method rather than heat crackle but I need a glass artist to guide me on technique!

The applied base and handles appear to be a dark brown or black glass that has been gold sheeted.
The body exterior and interior have been matte finished, and knowing the Japanese this would likely have been from sand blasting.

Another one that could only be Japanese!

      Thanks Caper and Melanie.
The texture is wonderful and as you say Melanie gives it a look of pottery, quite a common theme in Japanese art glass.

Thomas it would be great at times!
