    Here's an old trunk that has been in my family for about 5 generations.

    As you can see, it has been repaired a few times (originally with brass plates), then
    with some copper plates, then black hinges.
    If I remember right it came from my great, great, grandfather 'Baldwin' from Canada?

    I just like the way it looks, not too complex with the design, nor plain.....

    It's 43" long x 21" wide x 18.5" high.

      A very beautiful trunk -- similar in design to others I have seen from the 1820's or thereabouts. Probably originally covered in canvas or leather -- you can tell by looking closely at the metal banding to see if remnants are still underneath.
