Anyone know anything about this old violin? My father gave this to my mother i believe before i was born. I grew up playing with it (which probably shouldn't have happened) but it is very old. I can't find much online about this violin maker and was wondering if this is something that is common or rare? Its in pretty good condition because it has always been kept in it's case. The wooden and velvet lined case and bow are beat up but it has kept the violin safe all these years. Does anyone have any info?

Research shows that shortly after 1900 there was a law passed that required all imports coming into the United States had to be marked(in English) of where the item was made. This means your violin is early 1920s or very close. It is a copy of an Amati violin, I have a German cody of a Stradivarius from around the same time and it is a very beautiful sound. German quality violins are only equal to old Italian violins in my opinion. Hope this helps!
