I have posted the green vase here before but the white vase is relatively new to me.

Both from pulegoso glass with black ink-like marks and clear casing.

The green vase has a formed clear glass foot.
The rim of the white one has a noticeable dip in the edge where it has been hot worked. Iwata had the skills to fix this but in that very Japanese way has left it.

The white vase came in it's own tomobako but I have not had the script interpreted.

These date from the 1950s so are early in Japanese art glass terms.

Really love them, and I even like the name. Feels like I know Japanese all of a sudden.

LOVE EVERYTHING about them, including the wooden box container. My wife has a Japanese tea set from the 1950s, complete with its wooden box, that's never been used. We received the tea set from her mother, who bought like triple of everything, when we got married in '75. We've kept it boxed up for the past 40-plus years without ever using it, it's too dang pretty to use!!! ; )

Maniac if only I knew Japanese! I sound good throwing names and terms around but it's very superficial and only enough to identify things. I'm glad you like the glass. Thanks!

Blade you should post the set. It sounds great. I love the glass too and a box is a bonus. Thanks for the comments, I always enjoy them.

I hope you are rested now and happy these helped relax you. Thank you.

Different shapes, and yet they complement each other perfectly. I just love all your glass, Karen, such a treat when you share these pieces. :)
