    Actually, instead of calling them "kickers", they should really call them "dekickers". This is because this dairy farm tool keeps the cow from kicking the milker or the bucket in which the milk is gathered.
    The tool wraps aroung the haunches of the cow, preventing it from knocking over the pail or maybe more importantly, preventing the animal from kicking the person doing the milking. Cows can kick forward, sideways, and backwards and it is no laughing matter to be kicked by one of these Bovine beasts, "it hurts"

      I remember using these twice a day milking cows when I was a lad, 55 years ago.
