A neat little thrift store find today was this plug in wall lamp. I fell for it's practical base unit with the switch, and more so the glass beads which dangle below it. The base is marked CSA, which was a registered mark in 1946. Max 4 watt bulb. I think it's safe to say it from the 40's or 50's. It's in nice condition but could use a little tlc one day.

Wow. It was a 40 watt chandelier bulb I just pulled out of it as seen in the pic. I just checked again, and it definitely says 'Use 4 watt bulb max.' This must be some kind of night light I suppose. I'm not sure i'll find a 4w bulb, but i'll try.

You should be able to find a low watt fluro bulb that gives more light. They are much cooler too and less likely to damage the lamp itself.
Neat thing...I have never seen another!

Ok thanks racer4four. It is one of those miniature type bulb bases,... but I could up the wattage with the cooler flouro bulb. Good idea. I'm surprised the fabric isn't scorched as it is. I don't think it was used much. The switch has a nice positive click to it still. That modern nut/bolt combo has got to go one day tho. I think I have a brass combo for it somewhere. Thanks for the love clicks mikelv85, vetraio50, Radegunder and racer4four :)
