Well it took me a while, but I finally found the perfect frame for the floral painting I posted last month. I had seen this a week ago. It was one of a pair. The mate had a nice old lithograph of children playing in a pasture. The back had a wood covering so I knew it was quite old. This frame however was empty with just the glass and no backing. Luckily the glass had not fallen out due to a few loose nails keeping it in place. The glass showed signs of age too as it's wavy with a few air bubbles. The old label on the back says A. Jos. Nurre Manufacturer Cincinnati, Ohio. Which probably pertained to the print that used to be in it as well. It has lines for pattern and finish but lines are drawn through them in marker with 4646 and 2 probably meaning a pair. I'm pretty sure the numbers are modern maybe from an auction or estate sale. There is no date but someone asked about two Nurre prints they had on the "Just Ask" site. The art appraiser that answered her question said they sold lithographs around 1880-1900. So, they most likely framed them as well. It has an interesting dark amber glaze over the gold. Not sure if that's recent or original. It was rather expensive so I gambled the wait till half price day Wednesday and it paid off. I think the frame's floral motif is a perfect compliment to these lovely flowers. -Mike-

Thanks Karen...yep that's my little girl Mitzi. I found her online. She was a rescue from a puppy mill and was already three years old when I adopted her. She already had her name and I never bothered to change it. Not very Scottish I must admit but she was rescued from a mill in Amish country and they're mostly German. She'll be twelve in June. The average age for this breed is eleven so she's beating the odds and still a little goof ball ...lol :)

Thanks so much OGF.... I figured if I was patient something just right would eventually show up. All my guys are seniors too and have good and bad days. My one cat is well over 20 plus years old. The Sumida pitcher you found the other day made me jealous too but as you said in a good way ....lol :)
