"Northern Electric patented USA" is stamped on the back. There is no date on the phone. It weighs 5 lbs and has original cloth cord. It might be 1930's -bakelite?
Would love to know more if anyone can tell me!

Its a "North" Electric not Northern. Its often referred to as the Galion as North had a manufacturing plant in Galion, Ohio. It would be from the 1940's but look for dates inside the body or on the transmitter/receiver elements in the handset. Someone could have always changed parts over the years so its not a true indication.

A lot of these were manufactured and still survive today. Plain black Bakelite is less desirable. Coloured Bakelite phones obtain higher dollar value. Your best bet is to watch a few eBay auctions for black Bakelite North Electric Galion telephones and see what they go for.
