I've been searching for a fancy top (what Charles calls it) lava vase for quite some time, and was finally able to buy one, but in a bowl. Typically, his cut top pieces are vases - he rarely makes bowls - so when this one became available, I grabbed it. It has a selenium red ground with gold lava and a nicely pockmarked Cypriot finish. An added bonus - which differentiates it from his cut vases - is the many cuts and curly-cues. As always, thanks for looking.
Ooooooooooo Rick!! This is Stunning. Such a beautiful color. The design with the cuts and curly-cues makes it SO UNIQUE !! One hell of a LOTTON collection you are getting!!
~ You deserve all the Good karma to go your way !!!

Hey Rick and Gloria, I was just wondering if you had any cell pics (aka bad pics) that you might be willing to post. Your photos are absolutely spectacular but I can't zoom in on them so it makes it hard to compare while thrift shopping. :0)
Spectacular as always Rick ! :)
LOL OGF! I am likely to find a Lotton in my local op shop too!
He is an extraordinary artist Rick and you have picked some exceptional pieces.
I really love the rim of this; the swirls and curls and the metallic iridescence. I wish I could hold it and move it about.
(Charles now, hey?)
Very nice indeed! I think there are two Charles Lotton decors that are a must have for every Lotton collector: Lava & Multi-Flora. These are "signature, iconic" Lotton decors. His Cypriot Lavas are one of his earliest decors and it was this decor that attracted Lillian Nassau, the well known NY Tiffany dealer, to get Charles under a 5 year exclusive contract! She knew that Charles would be the "Tiffany of the Future"!
And that really is one fancy top, Rick. So wonderfully set off by a background that, to me at least, looks like the night sky. "Pockmarked" in any sense seems totally out of place :)
Wow you guys... thanks so much for all the positive comments and love! I appreciate it!
@ OGF... Lol, if you look at some of my early posts, you'll find loads of bad pics that will make you happy! :-)
@ Karen... Thank you, I've grown to appreciate his work, and also find him a very talented artist!
@ Deb... Thanks for the appreciation and additional info! I've never told you, but a while back you mentioned that now was a great time to buy his pieces. Obviously I've taken your advise!
@ Peggy... I guess you're right Peggy... pockmarked might have been a bad word... I should have said textured :)
Picture #2 ... Love !!!!
Thank you Bill! Also, thanks for the love Official, Smiata, Christina, Jean, Silvia, Radegunder, Hunter and Pat!
Miss your posts and comments Rick :(
