I found my cat playing with one in our bath tub. They used to love drinking out of the dripping spout. It must have come up front the basement to get a drink too. We were living in an old turn of the century farm house at the time. Don't remember what I did. Probably yelled Noooo !! grabbed the cat and ran...lol

My finger hovered a long time over the "LUV" !! Damn, I hate these things ! Proof that God doesn't have a sense of humour. Nature over did it when it came poisonous, armored & fast ! Grew up watching for rattlers, moccasins, copperheads & ended out watching for these !! Bit by 1 & it took 3-4 yrs for that knot to go away & there is no way to describe the INSTANT pain !How many people on this thread have been bitten by one ?

Vintagefran... it SCARES me too! Charlie was a courageous cat, loved chasing bugs and spiders! There, only intrigued "why this bug doesn't move???"

Halas, little Charlie passed in february, not even 5 years old... He had a heart disease, under medication for 2 months, he was very sweet and still when he had a cardiac echography, the vet was amazed he stood so quiet during the process. I miss him so deeply!
