any help in finding out more on this I would really appreciate, came from my family attic probly from my late grandmother's family its 30 inches high & 23 inches across made of tin under the wooden slates and It has metal rollers on all 4 bottoms (they look old) seems in good condition , handle are still there and good, missing drawer inside & key but I can't find a name or maker anywhere on it...how can I find out? My grandmother used to deal with antiques but I did not get her wisdom in them at all driving me crazy trying to find out any info on this...HELP PLEASE!
Your trunk is a metal covered(also called tin covered, zinc covered, and fancy metal covered) barrel top trunk with slats running lengthwise. It is an American made trunk from around the late 1880's. If there was a makers label, it was on the missing interior parts. However, more often then not there is not a label or tag. This was a style most makers produced, so no way to even guess. This was a trunk that was better than most as evidenced by the amount, and configuration of the slats. Hope this helps,
Jim
