You could think it is made from ivory...
High quality carving, turned work and polish in a well chosen bone part give this result!
Only one side shows the unmistakable tiny blood vessels marks for bone material...
When closed, it is 8.5 cm or 3.3/8".
The hook part screw on the handle to get a handy length of 12.5 cm or 4.3/4".
More than 150 years old and still in great condition!
