My recent kijjiji purchase! Found this lovely leather trunk browsing on Internet and fell in love with it. Honestly, I bought it for peanuts and realized back home that its value is much greater than the price I paid and that this beautifull trunk is very rare!!
If anyone can help me discover a little more about this type of trunk I would greatly appreciate it :)
Update April 10, 2016
Like promised I added new pictures of the inside of my Jenny Lind Trunk.
Its measurements: 30L X 17H X 18D
...and by looking at the new pictures, this beauty is in a looong cleaning process :)
I will add new pictures of the end result.
Thanks for looking!
You're at the right place. Trunk experts abound here !
You did very well I would have a grin on my face if I did a good deal also.
Wow, it's a Jenny Lind trunk, a fancy one in really nice shape too. Like Blunderbuss2 said, experts abound here and I'm sure they will sit up and take notice.
Rare to find that much original embossed leather still intact. Especially on a very desirable, hour glass shaped Jenny ,with six brass bands . A real Bonus, to find the original handles still there. She is Missing a few brass studs and her leather straps but a wonderful find none the less. I wonder if the interior is a nice as the outside? If so feel free to post pics. Thanks for the eye candy.
Thank you for all your comments and for looking!
I cannot find a similar trunk on the Internet, but still looking…
Drill, the tray is still in the trunk fortunately, it seems to have all its pieces except for few brass studs and the leather straps on top. I will add some pictures of the inside this week end. For the brass studs, I found some full brass repro to replace the missing ones.
Now that is a Super Trunk !!!!! .....and more !!!!! .....and more !!!!!
Really clean ,nice original piece .Thanks for the additional photos.
Eye candy, that !
Beautiful Jenny Lind -- I have posted a similar six banded one -- take a look for comparison...

So, how much is one like this worth?
I find it hard to assess value on these -- dependent on what forum you choose to use to try to sell it... look up comparisons on auction sites and ebay for a ballpark figure..
ps. you can shine up the second half of the banding with fine steel wool....
trunk man- ok thank you. I just bought one that looks like this one, except it has the paper lining inside. Looks original.
