Hi, I would love to know more about this steamer trunk this steamer trunk is very small measuring 11" tall x 12.5" deep
by 25.5" wide does anyone know if this is a child's steamer trunk or a sellers sample also I was wondering if the brass detail was added or original the lock has a patent date of November 3,89 the inside is covered in some kind of paper has what I believe is the original tray the trunk is covered in stampted metal any information would be gladly appreciated

I guess your trunk could be called a child's trunk, but I have not seen that term used in the trunk catalogs. It is basically a small trunk. It is a metal covered trunk from around the 1880's. The lock was patented Nov. 30 1869 and was used for another 30 plus years. The inside paper is not original, but i believe the tray is. The outside decoration is not original but it looks good. Hope this helps,
