Sloppy Joe's Cafe, on Brook Avenue, Kingston, PA, as seen in March, 2016.
Typical corner bar of the area, such local places are disappearing as owners retire, demographics change and onerous laws make it hard for independent businesses of all types to survive...
Over the years most have died off. The youth today seem at least what ive seen don't socialize as much in large groups. Happy hour no more . I usually only go to the Leigion or a bar for lunch..
So the demise of local bars is apparent in your area, too? It is sad. I go to a couple of the traditional bars, to a social club, and to the Legion Halls, also. I find such places more hospitable and engaging than the "contemporary" establishments….not to mention that the prices are better at the "old time" places, too!
Fearing the end of the local watering holes, I'm trying to take pictures of such places. I have posted some of these images on CW, and will post more as I take more photos. Most of these are outside shots, and I'm looking to get inside ones as well.
Thank you for the love, and for the thoughtful comment…..

Thank you, ttomtucker and battlegear!!!
I don’t know about your area. But in Roswell Ga, Woodstock Ga and Canton Ga. local restaurants and breweries are popping up and young people are enjoying themselves on weekends. Families are coming out and some towns are having festivals on first Friday’s of each month. Live music , food trucks and car shows bring people out. I see more involvement not less. Families coming out and enjoying food and beverages.
