Hi, this is a shiny and nice platter with a buffalo stamp in grey/black on the back and underneath that there is a number, I can't quite make out all the numbers, and the picture above shows also incised numbers on the bottom of the platter, and I can't understand if Buffalo China had incised identifying numbers like this. It doesn't have the look of other pieces and I can't find this color in my research, so I don't understand if it's an important piece or not, the style of the Buffalo stamp on the bottom I believe is from the 1980's. I don't know if it is restaurant ware or not.
Would like to see a close up pic of the Buffalo Mark.
As you mentioned, it might be Restaurant Ware.
Here's a similar item:

9709B is the number I just had someone that could see better than I get it. Then I went onto etsy, she has 2 burgundy round plates, white bottom, here's has a similar number with a B at the end, but says they are from the 60's, so it's burgundy on top white on the bottom so her picture shows much better. My buffalo stamps in grey/black I know it's real, and I am sure this is 80's, but the incised numbers is what I question, plus I want to sell so I want a fair price to offer. I can't find anything about the incised numbers, just the shape and color of the buffalo stamps from which decade they are from. This interesting, I live where many pieces of different kinds of china end up in thrift stores, new ones every day, for very low prices
