    Snickerdoo…
    (1 item)

This lamp was handed down to me from my grandfather who collected antiques back in the 1960's while engineering on the railroad. The shade is caramel with amber wide strips of color, and the décor on it is in metal; the shade is quite heavy. We rewired it recently because the cord was fabric covered and frayed. I wanted to light it up because it is so beautiful. My question is where did it originate and what year was it made? I could not find any markings on the bottom or the shade.

Thank you for the quick feedback on my lamp. I have printed off the history and put it with the photo for my heirs to appreciate!

I received a Collector's Weekly Slag Lamp article. It was fairly general in nature. This was my first time posting anything. Should I expect more info?

Oh ok. Usually once you post your photos, the members here that know something about your treasure/topic will all start posting their comments/ideas/etc. What's good about it, is that all of us get to learn from it! That's the great thing about this website, I don't have any slag glass, but I love, love, love it; so I'm always reading everything I can when it gets posted here. You very well may receive more comments and information on your lamp.

Actually, if the article did not answer your original question, and I'd leave your post as "mystery unsolved" -- maybe take a couple more photos of the base, or under the lamp shade itself if you find any markings or manufacturer's marks? Make sure you include that info as well. You're allowed four photos per post. Oh, and welcome to CW!

I have a lamp very similar to yours. It was my Grandmother's and I can't find any markings on mine either. The wiring has been changed as my lamp also had cloth wiring with two bulbs and a pull chain. Keep me posted if you find out anything about your lamp. When I learn how this site works I'll post a picture of my lamp. I remember this lamp at my Grandmother's home at least 60 yrs. ago.
