Hello Mark, What makes a bowl a "nappy?" I have been trying to learn a bit about cut glass and have come across that term a few times..... without learning the definition.

      Love the piece!

Hello, Nappy is a small dish that in most cases is not much over 6"-7" in diameter. Most of the time a nappy will have one, two, or three curled handles. Technically, the term Nappy is used for just about any small round or shaped piece used for serving, nuts, candy or swordfish. This piece could be part of a "card" set. There would also be a diamond, clover, and spade piece. I have another piece listed that is a one handled piece in a non round shape. Use the net and look up cut glass nappy or American Brilliant Cut Glass nappy. This type of piece was made in a lesser, cheaper type of glass called pressed glass. Write again if you need too.

Thank you! I have some pieces that would fit the term nappy. However, they are pressed, and of much lesser quality. I think they may fit in the "depression glass" classification..... a lot to learn there, too.
