This was my first mascot for a F. Bazin but it was not signed so of course one of the copies that were sold under another name, possibly Gloire or Glory, circa 1920's. It was in a sale in England and I only had a day or so. They phoned me during the sale, around 2 in the morning, and the piece went cheap. It was for the figure and old wood base. When I got it in the mail a few days later I then added the wings and motometer, polished up the wood base, and figured I might have 300 into the piece. By then I had seen a real Triomphe par Bazin going up for sale in a couple weeks. So I put this one up for sale and it sold for around 800. U.S. even though it was not a real one or advertised as such. I made enough money to insure my bid for the real one. Although gone, I think about it often and sorry that I sold it, somday maybe again...
Ahh, yes, many a knife have I sold, only to regret it soon afterwards, especially my SCHRADES. : (
