This chair was designed by David Weinstock and patented in 1974. The tag says Crucible Product Corp and I read that Mr. Weinstock owned the company . I also read that he died in 2007 and I think the company is no longer in business. The chair has minor flows but it is still nice and oddly comfortable. The line drawings on the patent show the chair without a cushion so I thought it may have been an afterthought but I am not sure. The Crucible tag was on the cushion so perhaps it was added on by the company. I am curious to know if anyone has seen another like this with a cushion . I bought this in about 2005 in Atlanta from a showroom that was using it as a prop for their visual displays. I would like to change the orange vinyl but I hate to mess with it if it is authentic to the piece. I guess I just want to know if this chair has any chair siblings out there or if it is a one off prototype....and should I recover???
ATTENTION......................... Here come the 1970's again!!! Love it !!!
