Actually this is what is left of her. She did have a stuffed body with plastic type material arms but it all just rotted out. This is actually older vintage than even me as my mother found it in a Goodwill store when I was a baby. None the less I did play with her and thought she was great.

Anyone have any information on date or anything else? Appreciate it.

Appears to be a composition head with sleepy eyes. Sleep eyes are the ones that open and close when you lay the doll down. Anything on the lower back of the head? Because mum got it in a Goodwill doesn't mean it was vintage at the time. ;-)

Certainly looks like an early 20th century composition doll, but a mark would really be helpful. This site has some doll marks and photos. Maybe it will help you. http://www.dollreference.com/composition_dolls.html

Thank you so much for the information. I am sure she is a sleepy eye doll as she has a lever in her head that I can move back and forth to close her eyes. Seems to be balanced to work when you lay her back. I looked for a mark and was not able to find one. Drat!
She is a keeper anyway. :)

Well, my niece must be on holiday. I thought she might confirm that we had the same doll. :-) Hm. That post is gone.
