This is a carving by an artist, apparently named "Claude", from Quebec. It is about a foot tall. I just love his face and the expressiveness of his features, and the way the artist seems to have gone with the grain in creating the statue.

By the way, does anyone else have a hard time loading pictures so they don't get cut off or turned on their side for no apparent reason?

Hi Jean, yes, sometimes my photos get turned sideways, CW Admin will often come in and turn them right side up, or you can ask them to do that for you.

As for your figurine, Quebec is known for these wooden carved folk art pieces, they are very collectible for the reason you noted, they are full of personality and expressiveness! :)
