Helped a friend clear out her Mother-in-laws house and I came home with these two chairs. Very interesting, low to the ground and very pretty. First on the cushion needs work and looks like some slats are missing as someone filled in holes with putty. Second one is so pretty - looks to be all there, and gorgeous clawed carved feet. Oh, first one has carved decoration on front. Any info - would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day.
p.s. trunks have been coming out of my ears - working on custom orders and not enough time to get ones done for the etsy shop. Love the spring time with flea markets and Brimfield Show right around the corner. Would love to find me an Oak Slat!!!
Hi,
These very nice chairs were most likely made especially for children. They don't look like chairs that have had the legs shortened at all. I would think made from the mid to late Victorian period. But that is only my opinion, I'm not certain as to the age.
Was there anything else you needed to know? eBay has a good selection of antique and vintage childrens' chairs, and rocking chairs.
