I just recently purchased this trunk for a fair price. Being curious, I was wondering if the initials L.F.G. Va. could lead to some information of how old this trunk is, where it was made, and what the value of it is.

Your trunk was made around the turn of the 1900's. It was common practice to place one's initials on trunks purchased but not an indication of maker or where it was made. Only a maker's label would help in that regard and most makers did not place labels on their trunks. Its a nice trunk -- a typical style and make of the time -- local classifieds should give you a sense of value as there are many of this type available for sale.
