Here is a circa 1914 Dietz Eureka coach/buggy (driving) lantern in working condition. It would have mounted to the left side of a car. Just add oil/kerosene, and you have a light (that would not be acceptable by today's standards).

A beauty ! Would luv to have had one of these in my collecting days . I'll trade you my 3 legged water buffalo for it ! I'll pay for shipping of lamp & you pay shipping of buffalo. LOL !

I have the same thing. It is an awesome piece. I also have the Dietz Champion truck lantern.

Well, Blunder, they sell for only $40 if priced appropriately. Buffalo meat here sells for more than that.

EvanCloutier, did you post it yet?

Nice find, they sure built things to last in those days, I bet if kept out of the weather it will look the same in another 110 years

Another thought it, not much has changed: It's jut the better stuff that lasted, and most everything else was forgotten. :P

Thanks, Political Pinbacks. It resides safely in my room.
