Happy Mother's Day to all Mums on CW. Going out to lunch tomorrow to celebrate the occasion and the wife wants to wear some of her finery, so a good opportunity to grab a pic of a piece that rarely gets an outing.
This was very difficult to photograph because the detail is so fine my camera struggles to capture it.
This Art Deco bracelet features a natural pearl surrounded by diamonds and calibre cut emeralds, set in platinum over 18ct yellow gold.
It's all hand made and the millegrain detailing on the platinum is extraordinary, today this type of work is pretty much a lost art.
It's great to see the natural pearl as the central feature. This helps place the date around the late 1920's to early 1930's, just before Mr Mikimoto's cultured pearls totally overwhelmed naturals in the jewellery market.
So beautiful!!
Triple love! All my fav, era, millegrain, calibré emeralds and... pearl!
Thank you for sharing, Paul (and Mrs. Paul!).
Extremely well made. Can you take close up pictures of the marks? It would be interesting to identify the maker. There is one more photo option.Thank you.
lovely ..
gorgeous
Hi Ivan49, unfortunately there's no marks at all. I believe it was made in England based on the sketchy provenance from the dealer I got it off. The metals, gems and pearl were all tested by a gem lab and their report came with it.
lucky wife!
What a lovely bracelet.
Exquisite!
