A Vinnie's purchase a week ago was this little vase that I found ignored on a lonely shelf at Paddo. It just looked well designed ... flipped it over and saw some familiar marks from Sweden.
That UE combined meant Upsala Ekeby and the MS was for MARI SIMMULSON (b. 1911 - d 2000) one of the greats of Swedish design. She worked at Gustavsberg from 1945-1949 and then moved to Upsala Ekeby where she worked until 1972.
This design is called IRIS - a design from 1967.
There were six different pieces in the collection (IRIS, nr 7000M - 7005M) and this one is the smaller vase on the right of pic. 4. Its catalogue number is 7002M.
